Maison Margiela has opened a new flagship store in Milan, in collaboration with Wood-Skin. With more than 300 sq. m. of space, the ground floor houses womenswear and accessories while the first floor situates the house’s “Artisinal” haute couture line as well as shoes. Located within Milan’s historical center, the two-story space which sports a clean, whitewashed aesthetic, blends key elements of modernistic design with classical architectural components. The floors bear a mixture of concrete and tiled techniques, while much of the walls are mirrored, and curtains have been placed strategically.
The opening of Maison Margiela’s flagship store in Milan coincides with the 54th annual Salone del Mobile fair, and marks John Galliano’s first store opening since being appointed as creative director.
