Ralph Lauren unveiled its first open-worked timepiece – the Automotive Skeleton watch, as part of its 2015 Automotive collection. Inspired by Ralph Lauren’s 1938 Bugatti Type 57SC Atlantic Coupe, the timepiece boasts amboyna burl wood bezels, elm burl wood dials and black alligator straps reflecting the rich car interior, with the Arabic numerals inspired by the vehicle’s iconic gauges. A custom IWC hand-wound caliber RL1967 running at 18,000 vibrations per hour, along with a 45-hour power reserve, powers the watch which is protected by a 44.8mm gunmetal steel case. The mechanical movement can also be seen through a smoky sapphire crystal caseback. Look out for the release and pricing information to be announced in the near future via Ralph Lauren Watches website.
