Honda has unveiled a new Civic Concept at the on-going New York Auto show. The Japanese automaker has vowed that the sporty Civic will bring the company back to its performance roots. The 10th generation model features a new 1.5-liter VTEC turbocharged engine, LED headlights and taillights, and uses a slimmed down silhouette, leaving behind the cab-forward design seen in its earlier models. The car will also also include a number of safety and assistance technologies, including Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Departure Warning, Forward Collision Warning, Multi-Angle Rearview Camera, and an innovative Advanced Compatibility Engineering body structure. The new Honda Civic will be available as a Sedan, Coupe, Si, hatchback and Type R, and it is scheduled to go on sale this fall in the U.S.
