South Korean electronics giant LG has joined forces with U.S. retail jewelry company REEDS Jewelers, on a premium limited edition smartwatch. Dubbed LG Watch Urbane Luxe, the smartwatch boasts a 23-karat gold, and a brown handcrafted alligator leather strap. The 23-karat gold used in the LG Watch Urbane Luxe is stronger and harder than the 24-karat gold used in jewelry and heavier than the 18-karat gold used in traditional luxury watches. Limited to 500 pieces, each piece will retail at $1200 USD, and will come with its own engraved serial number for authenticity. The LG Watch Urbane Luxe will be available initially in the USA for pre-order at REEDS.com later this month or by visiting any REEDS Jewelers location.
