Maserati Unveils the 2018 GranTurismo

Yesterday at the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), Maserati unveiled its 2018 GranTurismo. The luxury coupe was on full display at the Experience Square, in the main entrance of the NYSE. Although entering the 10th year in the market, the Maserati GranTurismo still maintains its good looks as the very first day it was debuted in March 2007.

The most significant update in the 2018 GranTurismo is the grille, where the normally rounded edge takes on a more rigid look, inspired by the design on the Alfieri concept from 2014. The updated grille is joined by new lower air ducts which together improve airflow distribution and reduce aerodynamic drag from 0.33 to 0.32. The rear bumper has also taken on a cleaner look.

The GranTurismo comes in two options: Sport and MC. Each version boasts a 4.7-liter V8 engine, hand-built by Ferrari. The engine cranks out 460 horsepower at 7,000 rpm and 384 pound-feet of torque at 4,750 rpm, and spins the rear wheels via a 6-speed automatic transmission. The Sport edition goes from 0-62 mph in 4.8 seconds, and attains a top speed of 186 mph. Meanwhile, the MC edition hits 62 mph in 4.7 seconds at a top speed of 187 mph.

The interior on the other hand, is embedded with a 8.4-inch high-resolution capacitive touchscreen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration. Other updates include a Harman Kardon sound system, and a soft Poltrona Frau leather for all four seats as a standard option, and Alcantara as an additional option.
