Louis Vuitton is the latest fashion brand to enter the wearable technology market. Today, the French fashion house launched its first smartwatch dubbed the Tambour Horizon watch. The Tambour Horizon watch is a reworked version of the classic Louis Vuitton Tambour timepiece with a smartwatch technology.
Designed with Android Wear 2.0 software running inside its 42mm case, the Tambour Horizon smartwatch is compatible with both Android phones and iPhones – connecting via bluetooth. The 42mm case boasts a 1.2-inch AMOLED 390×390 touchscreen and is powered by a Snapdragon Wear 2100 processor. It also features 521MB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage, alongside a 300mAh battery.
In addition to normal smartwatch features like displaying phone calls, text messages, email and calendar notifications, the Tambour Horizon smartwatch harbors a special feature that searches for nearby tourist spots, as well a “My Flight” feature which informs travelers of flight times, gate information, reports of delays, or the number of hours remaining before landing.
The Louis Vuitton Tambour Horizon smartwatch comes in grey, black, and brown, with more than 60 different straps for both men and women. Starting from today, the watch is available online and at select stores, with prices ranging from approximately $2,430 USD to $3,300 USD.
