McLaren Officially Unveils the Futuristic Hyper-GT Speedtail

Today, McLaren officially unveiled the Hyper-GT Speedtail. The futuristic looking supercar sports a curvy symmetrical profile, accentuated with sleek lines. The Speedtail is the successor to McLaren’s first F1 model of the ’90s, and just like its predecessor, the it features a unique three-across seating arrangement, with the driver situated in the center.

The McLaren Hyper-GT Speedtail is billed as “the most aero-drag efficient McLaren road car,” thanks to its elongated and carbon fiber body build. Under the hood the Hyper-GT harbors a petrol-electric hybrid drivetrain that puts out 1,035 hp with acceleration of 0-186 mph in 12.8 seconds, and topping out at least 250 mph.

The vehicle’s streamlined shape is complemented with adjustable spoilers placed at the trailing corners of the car, which are crafted from flexible carbon fiber, allowing them to seamlessly blend with the curvature of the surface to ensure great aerodynamics. Additionally, fixed front wheel covers and pop-out video cameras replace traditional side view mirrors for added touch of sleekness. Further design elements include an advanced electrochromic glass roof, which darkens the top of the windscreen at the touch of a button, and replaces the need for sunvisors.

The McLaren Speedtail is priced at around $2.24 million including taxes, and only 106 units will be produced – all of which have already been reserved. McLaren will be shipping out the first deliveries in early 2020. Check out the images above, and proceed here for further information.
