Tidal, the high-definition music streaming service acquired by Jay-Z, is preparing for its official relaunch under new ownership later today. The company will be holding a press conference, in which Shawn “Jay Z” Carter is expected to announce forthcoming plans for the business that promise “a new direction” for the streaming music industry. The company is reportedly making a move to snag new releases by some of the biggest musicians of the moment including Kanye West, Madonna and Daft Punk, ahead of rival services like Spotify and Beats Music. Artists are already rallying around the service by posting pictures or changing their profile pictures to a turquoise blue color, as well as using the #tidalforall hashtag on social media sites. We will update you with more information on this, as it becomes available.
