‘Suicide Squad’ is Being Reshot Following ‘Batman v Superman’ Backlash

Suicide Squad Reshoots

The highly anticipated Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice hit theaters on March 25, and it has seen a heavy backlash ever since. The film currently holds a 29% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and has been globally trashed by the audience and critics; including Kevin Smith — a longtime friend of Ben Affleck, and a well-known fan of superhero comics  — calling it “humorless” before going on to say “There seems to be a fundamental lack of understanding of what those characters are about. It’s almost like Zack Snyder didn’t read a bunch of comics — he read one comic once and it was Dark Knight Returns and his favorite part was the last part where Batman and Superman fight.”

This backlash is now having its impact on another DC and Warner Bros. film Suicide Squad scheduled to release this summer. The David Ayer-directed film has reportedly been recalled for some extensive — and expensive — reshoots, to make it more “fun.” Even though the movie trailer already looked funny, it is however, not indicative of the movie’s final cut.
