The numbers are in, and Drake’s newly released fourth studio album VIEWS was undeniably a huge success. Republic Records have released the official first-week sales numbers for VIEWS, and it definitely put the 6 god in a better place. Despite it being available only on iTunes and Apple Music so far, VIEWS sold 1.2 million copies (including streaming album equivalents) in less than six days following its initial release. Over a million of those copies sold came from the U.S. fans, and during this same six-day period, the album was streamed over 250 million times, while over 200 million of those came from the United States. VIEWS competed with BeyoncĂ©’s surprise Lemonade album and outsold it in a single day.
In addition, VIEWS will physically release in stores on May 6 and will extend its streaming services to other platforms such as Tidal and Spotify from May 13.
